C & S Disposal, Inc. is locally owned and operated by Charles R Flint & Steven W. Flint. Prior to the incorporation, the owners provided a recycle hauling service for Rockbridge County. C &S Disposal, Inc. was formally incorporated November 1, 1992 as an S-Corporation. At that time, the business started out with a roll-off service and purchased a rear load service consisted of residential and commercial customers in Botetourt County and the Town of Glasgow in Rockbridge County. Approximately one year later, we purchased a front end load service from Waste Management, serving Rockbridge County businesses that consisted of approximately one hundred accounts and has expanded considerably. The roll-off service has also grown over the years as well, due to industrial and commercial development in Rockbridge County. In January of 1998, we developed a residential curbside service in selected areas of Rockbridge County. Our facility is located in the southern portion of Rockbridge County, which is situated strategically in the Natural Bridge Station industrial region. The newest building consists of our office and three bay garage, manned by qualified full time mechanice. Charles R. Flint Sr., President and Steven W. Flint, Vice President, are the sole owners of C & S Disposal, Inc. We are currently under contract with Botetourt County, Town of Buchanan, Town of Glasgow, and selected commercial and industrial businesses in Rockbridge County, Virginia.
C & S Disposal, Inc. is qualified to perform the scope of duties that Rockbridge County has requested. We have been operation in Rockbridge County for over ten years and have been able to accommodate the expansion that has occurred gradually over the years and are prepared to expand further, as needed. We currently have four trucks in operation daily and six during the busy summer months. Our present refuse removal equipment consists of both front load/rear load compactors trucks and roll-off trucks (with backups) in addition to a container delivery truck. C & S Disposal, Inc, has the financial security and backing from a local financial institution to purchase additional trucks needed to meet your needs as specified in this proposal. Equipment used for our services is maintained and repaired at our shop in Natural Bridge Station, insuring prompt service to our clients. We provide a full service shop where most of our maintenance and repair needs are met for our trucks, equipment and containers (including a mobile service truck for on site repairs). We stock many parts that are needed to make the necessary repairs. Our present equipment is mostly early 1990 or newer and is consistently updated to ensure a dependable schedule is maintained and less down time is incurred. C & S Disposal Inc. also has at our facility a backhoe, bobcat, dump truck and other miscellaneous items that may be needed to maintain each site in an orderly manner. C & S Disposal, Inc. is open all holidays with the exception of July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, unless other arrangements are made of in the event of any unforeseen emergencies. In the event of inclement weather, our schedule will resume as soon as soon as safely possible. We currently have ten employees (inclusive of owners) on full time basis. All drivers maintain a current CDL license in good standing and adhere to random alcohol and drug screening requirements as well as company policies set forth in our employee manual. C & S Disposal, Inc. has been able to retain employees who are conscientious about their job by offering them opportunities for retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, and other perks. Our employees are expected to serve our customers in a polite and courteous manner at all times.
Brothers, Charles R. Flint, Sr. and Steven W. Flint share the manager title of C & S Disposal, Inc. Charles' experience with refuse removal started shortly after high school, operation a packer truck for Rockbridge County for approximately twelve years while developing an excavation business that he pursued in the late 1980's. Steven worked with Charles in his excavation business while attending Ferrum College and later graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in Agriculture. The early 1990's brought about slow economic times, it was then that we decided to pursue a career in the waste industry that would provide steady income that was not dependent on the economy. Upon Research of this field, we were able to purchase our first roll-off truck and hence the beginning of our business. The experience we have gained over the years has been the key to operation a successful business. Our philosophy has been to have daily communication with our employees and work on the same level insuring that the work load is delegated and handled in the most efficient way possible.
